Emerging Role of the Business Analyst

Author Application development software has only been around since the 1970s. Compared to other industries and occupations of the software industry is still very young. Because organizations have started using the computer to support their professional duties, have the people who create and maintain these “systems” has become increasingly sophisticated and specialized. This specialization is necessary because the computer systems become more complex, no one can know how to do it all.
One of the “specialties” that arises is the business analyst. Although some organizations have used this title in the non-IT areas of the company, this is an appropriate description for the role as a bridge between business and IT. The use of the word “business” is a constant reminder that all application software from the organization should improve its operations, reduce or increase revenues, costs, or increase customer service.
